If your mates really don't trust your cards and doing some gimmick free tricks and letting them examine the cards afterwards isn't enough then how about moving on to something different, you could try coins, ropes, silks, sponges, there're so much more out there than just cards.

Performing drunk isn't the best idea but we've all done it and most of the time it goes all wrong (well does for me anyway)

Preforming drunk isn't the best idea. I tried doing the hot shot cut while drunk and dropped all the cards onto the floor. Another time I forced a card and forgot what card it was.

These days I have a wee list of self workers that I know are easy enough to do when I had a few. OOTW is a belter to have set up when your out on the tiles. Done in a drunked toungue in cheek way pretending that you've no chance, then turning over the two piles of cards just knocks people for 6. If I do that one right I'm happy enough to pack up the deck and do no more.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Personally I find performing magic drunk the best conditions.

1) Lots of confidence...some would say arrogance
2) If a sleight goes wrong you probably wont notice
3) If the audience catches you out you probably dont notice or care
4) All the witt and charm will be oozing out of you. Well in your head it will
5) Your patter will slurred to buggery and so if they dont know whats going on any faults will be masked under a veil of confusion

Perfect!

Anyone who's been to a London meet can testify that tipsy performances aren't all bad. Fair enough it's not usually the time or place to bust out your brand new perfect faro but material that you can do back to front asleep sometimes goes down even better when people realise that you're finding it hard remember your own name let alone do anything difficult.

The artist who does not rise, descends.
