Currently working in the microfabrication/nanotech industry right at the Arctic Circle in Northern Finland. No night here at the moment... the midnight sun is shining 24/7... good for the mood, bad for finding dark and dim pubs for thread-related magic ;)

Hobby product designer, flight simulator enthusiast, cook and cardie.

Spent many years working in sales before finally giving it up and focusing on my martial arts training. Worked as a Programme Director for a full time martial arts school for a fours years then went to Australia for a year to live and train full time in a dojo before coming home and setting up my own full time dojo.

So in short, i teach martial arts, mainly Yoshinkan Aikido full time now and life is good.

I have a new job now so I basically sell people insurance.

In real terms that means I sit on my *rse all day and listen to people hurl abuse at me because they said they were 27 on confused.com and it turns out they're actually 17 and they want to know why their premium is now £600 higher

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Hey Big Cheese, I used to be a Marine! Where are you serving?

I know of a few other serving bootnecks who do magic, and many more who have left.

my dad used to be in the navy in the 50s/60s - he used to sing "Bootneck, bootneck can't catch me..."

I'm a full timer and love it!!

However, only 10% of my work is performance. The rest is getting the work.

I'm a senior manager for a South Yorkshire charity that provides accommodation and support for roughly 100 young homeless people. Stressful, but rewarding.

I was a printer for nearly 43 years and magic as a hobby but a near fatal motorcycle accident retired me. Now I build things for others out of wood and have had the good fortune to be friends with a great magician from the UK and I build some of his products that he sells. While I lost some of my performance skills, I can still entertain doing other types of effects that don't require alot of slieghts. Magic is still good to me.
Cheers
