I know how to do this one way but im not sure if theres a better way, my way uses fairly simple card control and Do*b** L**ts. Is there any other ways? please PM me.

One of my favourite effects of this ilk is Larry Jennings "Visitor" which is available in his book "The Classic Magic Of Larry Jennings" which is a real corker of a book.
There is a patterless performance of it here which gives you an idea of what is achieved although I really think this effect needs some patter desperately:

I've been doing a very very slight variation of the visitor, the mechanics are the same apart from a few subtleties. I never knew that it was a Larry Jennings trick.
