I'm in a sulk!

Everyone else I know has had to put up with me moaning about this so I thought why leave you lot out.

I had a brilliant hour and a half windsurfing last night. I came ashore, started packing things away when I sliped over on the concrete slipway. Managed to tear the leg of my lovely, brand new wetsuit and got a nice graze for my trouble too.

That's only the second time I've worn that suit and the tear looks like it's going to be a total pig to fix. Grrrrrrr

Sorry to hear that!

As Rob says, could have been worse... at least you didn't accidentally slice your hands open at work and have to spend two hours in A&E last night!

My sympathies are truly with you Lommy. Damaging something lovely and new on an early outing is a gutting feeling... I know the correct response should be "ah well, it's only stuff" but it's so hard when your shiny object of material desire will never be perfect again!

The second time I took my lovely matt black Littmann classic II masters edition stethoscope out into the world, I scraped the metal tubes against a wall, scuffing off the smooth black paint to reveal some ugly shiny silver metal. Heartbroken I was.

A new wetsuit is a beautiful thing - I feel your pain :(

A friend of mine came off his bike recently. A car changed lanes on the A1 without indicating and went straight into him; he was catapulted over the bike and ended up about fifty metres from the point of impact. If it wasn't for the fact he was in his full leathers, they reckon he'd be dead now. As it is, he escaped with a dislocated shoulder and cuts and bruises. He was more upset with the fact that his bike was a write off as it was only four days old and had done under 100 miles. And now - surprise, surprise - the insurance company are trying to screw him over.

i have absolutely no sympathy for you young lady...there's children in third world countries who would LOVE a wetsuit...

regardless of tear..or water...

no, no sympathy from me lomster, when you bear in mind that you could of fallen over and knocked a tooth out, or broken part of your (often kicking) self...im sure wetsuits are far easily reparable than you in some kind of plaster around an arm or leg...

plus, who'd do the ironing eh!

<Rubs shin ruefully, and makes mental note regadring Lommy's extra long kicky-leggie>

How the hell do you not walk in circles, with odd-length legs like those, Lomster?!

Since we are telling storys. I came off the road saturday night when driving to a friends. It was very wet on the roads, and though I tried to steer around a roundabout (and even tried to brake when I realised that I wasn't steering, yet sliding). Unfortuantly hitting the curb, bending the front passenger wheel back into the car. After a new arm was put in, there is still something wrong with the car. It is going to be a bit of hit and miss the many things that could be wrong.
Fortuantly I have a brother as a mechanic. So it is going to be a little cheaper that normal.

It is a shame though to hear about your accident.
