I don't want to sound like I'm trying to suplicate someone else, But i saw gerry mcaimbridge do this thing on tv... then read my question

My question is... Does anybody know a way where you can do muscle reading to do a SIMILAR thing.

Please NO exposure, just tell me how i might learn it. (suggested book?)

Thanks,

-Ben

Depends on what you want to accomplish but yes, you can replicate just about any of the standard bits associated with Mentalism via MR the problem is, such demonstrations tend to move rather slow and prove a wonderful cure for insomnia.

Do bear in mind I'm a huge fan of MR and have been using it since I was a kid (several people in my family are Dowsers) but you can do book tests, murder mysteries and a wide range of other bits via MR I would recommend however, learning some solid billet control along side the MR methods and top it all off with a serious study in the human animal and being a solid Reader...
... you will note that I didn't say "Cold Reader".

Well, that's such a misused term for starters that it's just not funny. Secondly, the way it is implied within the magic world extends a huge sense of bias that is highly disrespectful of the sitter/client/patron you would be interacting with. Though the Ian Rowland and Tradecraft books are excellent resources they were not compiled by people who actually work as Readers e.g. they are little other than biased opinion, not fact.

If you want to explore this area then dig into most everything from Richard Webster, Ron Martin and John Riggs as well as Bob Cassidy's The Real Work on Cold Reading (his Theories & Methods for the Practical Psychic has some very sound insights in it as well. Especially the essay on the Baker Billet Switch & Read)

Cassidy has some great material on Wolf Messing and Erik Hanussen that I'd recommend you look into if you are planning to move along this route but you would be smart to learn all you can about these two historic characters as well.
