As i've yet to to make a formal introduction, i thought now would be a good time - before i get too involved and it gets too late.
Im me. From the capital.
Complete magic novice, although ive been a fascinated outsider for many years. Im mostly interested (at the moment) in coin/card tricks and mentalism. Basically i prefer simpler stuff, not too planned and prepared. The less elaborate the ploy, the more amazed i am, as it seems more natural to me and as though it could be done in any setting rather than one thats specially set up. Not to say that i dont enjoy watching the big'uns but they dont so much interest me for my own purposes.
I suppose my biggest worry about getting into magic is taking the magic away from the effect. Once i understand how it works, will it still hold the appeal for me? Will i still want to learn? Card tricks, yes, but for everything else, only time will tell.
I have Mark Wilson on order and from then it'll be on to RRTCM and Bobo's coins, depending on how i feel following my 'initiation' and perhaps further down the line to 13 steps - as I've been well advised by members here already. As well as that im generally interested in practical psychology reading. Behavioural psych, etc, etc.
I have no intention of using anything i may learn to earn money - im purely a hobbyist (and one who is looking to impress

And with that, i hope to put myself about on here a little more, and as i learn, i expect you'll come to see quite a bit more of me.
