Craig browning?????? Nup , don't know the name. Must be a nobody who thinks he knows it all. Don't remember seeing him at the show to even have that amount to say on the matter.
Craig a word of advice. Before you start to try and bad mouth , bring down, insult or anything else you are trying to do, just remember you are doing it to your fellow kind . If i wasn't thick skinned and brushed those comments off as they should be then your attack would be strong enough to put the hobbiest off. This is us supporting each other as well ??? HHMMM
If you have a mirror go take a look at yourself , and when you are 100% perfect write your next post.
Goodnight

Are you sure that doesn't say more about you than it does Craig?

Perhaps Craig was a bit harsh, but he certainly knows a lot about this field and and it would be unwise to dismiss his words as the ramblings of "a nobody who thinks he knows it all".

Mindpaul, although I think Craig's post was maybe a bit harsh, you have lowered my opinion of you by responding to a problem with a response that is just as negative.

"I want to do magic...but I don't want to be referred to as a magician." - A layman chatting to me about magic.

Hey 'Cardza', I think Paul is within his right to be a little annoyed...

Mr Browning referred to our act as 'cheap', called us 'shoddy performers', 'selfish individuals' (even tho we did this for charity raising over £1000 in the process!!!) and called Paul an 'idiot' and a 'fool'.

I don't care who Craig is or who he thinks he is - he has no right to slate us in this manner.

We posted this link on here to share our success and passion for magic and illusion with the rest of you - not to provide fuel for a heated and spiteful attack.

Craig is entitled to his opinion, but if I were him, I would be embarrassed at the way I'd worded it.

I know who craig is and have read his posts.
If I attacked you on a performance you did that I didn't see I'm sure you would have something to say.
I'm not usually like that, however I do believe in getting the facts before an attack.
I am a very easy going guy and I think things have been taken out of text here. Hey I never even put the post on and I'm having to defend myself.

No wonder there are so little response to posts . people are to scared to make a comment incase they get brought down in flames and laughed at.
Which is sad.

I think that everybody should read all the posts on here and take note.

were all agreed that the wording used by teh press in this article wasnt the best.

this is an all to common problem.

so, my thought on this, is that if any performer is going to stage a head line prediction as a stunt.( lets remember , headline predictions are publicity stunts), then the news papers should be issued with a written statement, or press release.

verbal interviews are great, but they are always open to interpretation.

rather like postings on forums :)

Yeah, I've been stitched up by the press too many times in the past. A few years ago when I was making my living as a kids' magician, I told a reporter that I was thinking of moving into more adult based magic and mind-reading and that adult audiences were easier to handle than a room full of sugar high kids. Next thing I know there's a full page splash about me being the kids' magician that hates kids.

the strangest misunderstanding ive had , was a few years ago when i had to give an interview to a local paper, on how to play Pantomime dame.

I said, off the cuff, that " i was going to be wearing a new pair of boobs"

the press wrote.." mr shrimpton expects that things will be getting messy this year, and has invested in a new pair of rubber boots."

I'm a little late in so I just want to say it sounded like it went great, and good job on raising the money.

P.S.
What charity was it for? Just curious.

Thanks for that. The charity was Marie Curie Cancer care. They are building a new care centre near Glasgow that caters for the families of the cancer sufferer as well as the patient. They need £16million and have only got £4million left to raise. With the new place the family can stay with their relative whilst they live their last days which can mean a lot to the families, spending as much time as they can together.

Actually you're right. Perhaps it was the reporter who was psychic rather than the other way round.

BTW Don't take my posts about kids' magic too seriously. I have 2 little 'uns of my own and still do charity work at kids' hospitals. I love kids. Just couldn't eat a whole one. Boom boom.
