knocking on doors, word of mouth and business cards are what works best in my expereince.

There are a few web sites that specifically promote magicians but the consensus appears to be that they don't bring in that much work.

i've also tried Yellow pages and it bought in more cold callers trying to sell their services than it did sales leads.

Hope that helps

exactly what dat says, that an a good website thease days.
ask local shops if you can put in an add in there window, maybey offer them a free demo or something to drum up there business or as a last resort cash and i can't realy stress this enough get yourself a laminator and laminate your adds.
not only will they look more professional but more importantly they'l last longer in the window when some jobber tries to clean the windows.

and finaly be a whore, thats right go out there and sell your body  t-shirts with your adds on them front and back, basball caps, exploit that untapped realastate baby.

oh and vouchers, discount coupons on your website anything to drive them to your adds, a great one for the webby generation is treasure hunts, voucher codes spread across friends websites, its free, helps your friends get customers and benefits you.

Hi there,

I have been a pretty busy working professional for a fair while now and alough i have agents, website, brochures, ect, i still find that there is no better way than word of mouth, i try and perfrom as much as i can whenever i can just to build up i bigger profile, i find the more i perform the more work i get.

A good quality business card will go along way, but i still find that despite lots of advertising will get you work there is no better reccomendation than word of mouth.

Hope this helps

Lee.
