As your self-appointed mentor, I demand you concentrate less on gimmicks, and more on the basics of sleight of hand, utility moves and the general handling of the deck.

Also, I've noticed something in a few of your other videos that is also present in this one - your controlling of the selection really needs work. You seem to like to place the selection on top, cut the deck, then cut it a few more times, and hope that people will think it's lost. But the technique you use isn't particularly convincing. You need to work on some more natural card controls. The simplest would be the double-undercut.

And try to keep the deck roughly parallel to the ground. It looks strange when you hold it like this:

Did you call the card 6 of 'clubs' before you put it into the clear envelope!!! Lol. Easy slip to make since that is actually the card on top.

I agree with Queenie. Work on looking natural. Use the standard dealers grip that every lay person would tend to use when they pick up a deck of cards. As soon as you do anything different like turning the pack vertical without a good reason it raises suspicion.

Also, plenty of high impact non-gimmicked colour changes out there which will blow people away..such as the basic Erdanase- Houdini.

slights aside, I would say you need to come up with a more engaging presentation. with any gimmick, One can find plenty of people using it on youtube. Unless the person you are showing the trick to has seen little to no magic, its not the use of the gimmick itself that is going to entertain them. Come up with some sort of story, make something up about how the device is a time machine or a molecular altering device, or a changing room. It doesn't matter what it is, whats important is that you do more than describe in as little worlds as possible, what is happening.

The problem with WOW where I live is...it's very popular.

Expect a group of teens who is interested in card magic or even plain students to have more than one. I blame the ones made in China (cheaper WOWs) and it sells like hotcakes.

Although it is still possible to do the trick since the chances are very slim for me to meet a group of dorks while I perform...however, I've experience a couple of slip-ups already.

One was a few months ago when I was making table rounds in a hotel cafe. One kid on the table saw the trick and says that it's a WOW and his schoolmate has one as well. Darn.

I gotten smarter and bought a non-gimmick spare. A week after, it happened again...but I was ready and switched it.

i think the routine was alittle boring, trying it up and talk more enthusiastic and not be monotone. I LOVED it though
