No, not got it yet. I was researching my options back in April when I got sidetracked and never came back to it. I'm easily distracted.

Might pick one up when I get paid, though.

EDIT: Thanks, Jason, for posting that link to your review.

Looks good. I'd really like some kind of magic box element to my magic, just can't decide what at the moment...

Porper box is nice. It is NOT a lippencott box - works on a very different principle. It has drawbacks, but don't they all?

Yes, I did hearit has a different principle and I am intrigued to see it.

Jason Waskett wrote:Well I'd class it in the same catagory, as it basically does the same thing. I'm not knocking your reasoning, it just seems an obvious way to label it. (I'm not kocking you either, that's not my nature, as I don't know how that last bit reads).
I'll write a review on it, if you can do the same DrTodd then I'll link across to it, if you don't mind, as it's always good to get someone elses opinion, and there's not much written up on it, hence me finding this thread.

I would be happy to post a review once it arrives....I want something that can sit in open view throughout my show and then be handed to the participant who volunteered a ring (or whatever else I choose to vanish)...

Still sounds like I can work around the issues you raise, actually.

So, I am not worried...

Thanks for the link.

Thanks again for the link to a great review. It's a shame that for something so expensive they didn't line the box to help mask the noise. I know this would take something away from the appearance of the box, but at the end of the day it's not much use a Lippincott-type box if it makes a racket every time you work the magic. For £150, I would not expect the customer to have to customise it to make it practical for real-world usage.

Hmmm...the plot thickens...

It is not quite the same, but nice nonetheless...

I think the Porper box is more of a collector's piece rather than a practical prop. It just doesn't look and sound like it is designed for everyday use in the real world with real spectators. A very desirable item, though, make no mistake.

I don't know about the Ultimate Lightning Ring Box, but I own the previous version (Lightning Ring Box) and it works fine for what it is. I coloured mine black and found that it helped to disguise the gimmick somewhat. For £18, though, I think I would rather go with a nice, wooden Lippincott box rather than a cardboard tube with a lid. In fact, I now have my eye on that lovely Lippincott box that Jason linked to in an earlier post; together with Jason's great review, I am swaying very close. ;)

Beware of VAT and import duties when buying from a US website. Tax is charged on the total price, including postage. There is no tax on books, or on other goods if the value is less than £18.

Right...a little dance with Parcel Force and the porper arrived!

I think it is superb and will fit in my show as an alternative to what I am doing with the ring in the nest of boxes. I can routine the vanish differently and actually bring out the box before the ring vanishes. This also seems suitable for a bill tube presentation, or any object in an impossible location scenario.

The craftsmanship is second to none and the effect is truly baffling.

Overall, I love it and can't wait to get it out there for the crowds!
