nope, i avoided it like the plague last night.

i do have it recorded though, ( lord knows why) .
I suspect i need a bit of crappy telly to moan about now and again.
Also my curiosity drives me to watch it, just to see how much dafter it can get.

I do wonder if this would seem less stupid if it was being shown on a saturday, or sunday night.

I've been trying to work up enough enthusiasm to mention how daft last night's episode was - but I can't be @rsed. So many plot holes and unexplained links, why is it that no matter what the subject, they all have encyclopaedic knowledge of even the minutes details. Is there never to be a time when one of them responds to a question with a blank look and 'Dunno, I'll have to Google for the information'. How did one guy manage to pick J of A's bones and seemingly very well preserved clothes out of a partially opened stone coffin all by himself, making not a sound, nor leaving anything behind, and silently disappear like the morning mist? I'm well fed up with the sword link to each 'story' as well - so unlikely.

There you go, if I'd worked up more enthusiasm I'd probably have been critical....

next week is the last one. and surprise, surprise they end up in.. King Arthur country.glastonbury.

I can kind of see the link between france and teh arthur legend. Its thought that many of the arthurian stories, are set in france.

as to the bones, well, maybe the nuns new a thing or two, and constructed the coffin like a draw box.

now you see her... now you dont.

Im curious. Does your interest and knowledge in magic draw you to programs like these?

Im just wondering cause i dont personally see them as being linked at all.

I understand an interest on the basis of quality programming. I might like it if its good and if the style is right for me. But do many of you think "ooh, magic program, I think I'll watch it." despite it being more of the fantasy side of magic.

As far as I'm concerened there's no link with magic other than a bit of escapism and entertainment. Sadly, Bonekickers falls short on both counts!

Before we get on with tearing apart tonight's (final) instalment of Bonekickers, did anyone else see New Tricks last night? NLP, hypnotism, weird stage magicians lots of 'iffy' statements about forcing people to do things against their will, music of Gerry Rafferty, and some shots of what was supposed to be the inside of the Magic Circle HQ? I saw some, recorded some and watched it later but couldn't quite get into it for the full story. I guess it'll be on UK Gold in about 6 month's time!

I saw about 5 mins of it, as i was really into the repeat of Longford on more4. Its an amazing piece of Drama.

I saw the end though and thought that using the incorrect premmis that chung ling soo pretended to be an invalid all his life, had been lifted straight out of the prestige.

It shows lazy writing. :)

OK.. Bone kickers. Im going to miss this rubbish.

quote of the series...

out of my way.... I'm an archeologist!

And, Where can i get one of those high powered lazer torches?

and, how come the sword obsesed mother who couldnt get the strength up to talk, or walk, or anything else, managed to silently build a cavern beneath the wooden floor of her bedroom, and then fill it with boxes , and boxes of papers?

also, how come the staff didnt see it being taken away?

and, what would of happened if they had moved the rug with the swirly pattern? Would the cavern ever of been discovered?

You can tell that midway through the series, the writers knew that they had a dead donkey on their hands. thats why the whole sorry tale was wraped up at the end of the series.

Merlin is an imaginative and enthralling new twist on a legend that is as old as time.

Im guessing you've never seen the Monty Python Musical - Spamalot.

They sing a song about lancelot who is actually a closet homosexual.

"His name is Lancelot,
He wears tight pants alot.
And likes to dance alot"

It goes on.

I was severely dissapointed with bonekickers, i saw the first one, and sort of hoped it would get better, so I kept watching it.

Alas. Nothing.

I gave up half way through. Though judging from some of the above comments, I did the right thing.

All the best,
Croz

Did anyone else see it tonight? I quite liked it; some great special effects and a good plot (I don't know how true to the original tale it is, though)
