I saw this the other day, and thought it a very clever little trick, but unfortunately the person who showed it had no idea what it was called.

The patter is about entropy, ie A measure of the disorder of a system. A small box containing six black dice are shown, the number on the top of each die are all different, ie, one has a one, two has a two etc. Th elid is placed back on the box, which it should be pointed out fits the dice with very little room to spare, and the magicians rolls a seventh die explaining that out of chaos - order can come.

With a clock of his fingers, the lid of the box is removed, and the 6 dice are now all face up with the sixes on top.

The dice and box can all be examined to reveal nothing funny going on.

Now I know HOW the effect i sdone, and believe me it is very clever, I just wanted to know what it was called so I could (perhaps) get one.

my version came in a cardboard box so I made my own box.

I believe it's called Flash Dice. It's quite old.
