Hi Carolos - great news and something that I've been meaning to do myself.

When I nip over to Leicester you'll have to tell me all about it.

Well done indeed

I wanted to know a bit more about the Magic Circle.
What is it exactly? What do they do as an 'organisation'?
How many members? Whats the standard for entry like?

Must have answers!!!

But seriously, as well as those ponderings, how many TM members are members of the magic circle?

You can find out all about TMC here:

http://www.themagiccircle.co.uk/main_nav/index.php

Also have a look at the "how to join" page for details of examinations.

There are currently about 1400 members, of whom roughly 400 are overseas.

I'm a member.

You're right, i could have searched it. I suppose you expect The Magic Circle not to have a website or anything for the general public. The image is one of mystery and secrecy.

I was also interested in getting answers from the perspective of you guys on here, and again, wondering how many of our members were MC members.

But the website did give some answers. Its kinda cool.

I've applied and am currently waiting for my interview and audition. It's a drawn out process as confirmed by Carlos

I should be hearing any time now (fingers crossed)

If you look on the application for membership section of the web site it will give you information about how the auditions are scored, which may be of interest to you.

Good luck.

I'd love to have a look around the place, especially the old artefacts and library. But membership? Well I don't think they'd take an old chancer like me. My palming is awful and I don't in all seriousness know what a french drop is. I think I'd fail the interview.

I congratulate anyone who manages to gain membership of the magic circle. However it isn't really a big deal and when you see how dreadful most of the members are at performing you will be wondering what the fuss is about.

Most of them couldn't make the contents of an empty box disappear.

I'm quite surprised by this.

How did they get into the Circle then?
