Derren does make money with this effect; it is his act.

He did a similar routine in his last tour (getting someone to act as the mind reader). I know how that was done, but because I won't tell you, that means I don't actually know, right?

People won't discuss his act because it is exposure whether or not someone makes money from selling the effect and out of respect for a great performer.

I think we should all agree that we (the GOD LIKE ONES) know almost nothing and what we do know we should hold back because we are really, REALLY mean. That way this tiring thread will end.

funny thing that u call yourself the godlike one.. well if u see it like that it is ok for me..

anyhow: i did not write that u know nothing but that u do not know how this trick works.. keep your facts straight man.. 8)

so u are not mean u just do not focus on content but go on personal stuff.. as i wrote this is a question of your style.. u have 2 live this way not me - so who cares.. :P

@least: what is a magic forum for if not 2 talk how trix (u see on tv e.g.) work? so in 1 point i agree with u: lets end this boaring thread (or do u need the feeling of having the last word?).. hope that u can catch the content of what i wrote as it is not corrrrrect english again..

My only advice to you is spend time on punctuation and capitalization. Does it really take more time to type "at" instead of "shift+2" or "@"? Sorry I just find it hard to take you seriously. :?

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

We don't discuss how things on tv are achieved, we don't all think we know everything but we do hope you stay, read & learn to be as good a magician as possible without breaking moral boundaries.

I agree with the internet slang though, '@' instead of 'at'? wotz all dat bout?

I would also suggest that one does not start a move into magic and mentalism by bluntly asking that people explain how performers such as Derren "do things".

One of the most mind numbing things that ever happens on forum is the ENDLESS post motems of performers work... especially Derrens. The number of times people try and sound sooooo clever by "just happenning" to mention that "the method was obvious" is sadly transparent egotism at it's worst and serves no purpose, who cares? What do you want a medal...a prize...awe...friends...fame...a job?!?

Fine, study the pros. performance, the subtlties even the method and by all means enjoy the show and the skill but then, and here is an idea...DO something, buy a book, learn, perform and create your own material. 5 minutes with a search engine or 1 minute here will offer starting points for YOU to start to learn, from the begginning... not just be handed information on a silver platter, what good is that? What could you possibly learn from that? How good could you possibly be?

The whole world at the tips of peoples fingers via the power of modern computing and information technology and the best people can do is to say "Tell me"?! So many people have taken years and years to learn so much information. They have ACTUALLY read, watched, bought books, materials, tricks, DVDs, have spent endless hours practicing and socialising, have written material, invented tricks, marketed ideas, gone to performances, joined clubs, contributed to forums, taken up jobs to be able to afford resources and generally put real effort in... but you, in your first post here, via one bit of badly written txt speak simply request that these people just "tell you" how a top pro does things?! You can not honestly see why this is taken so badly?

Russpie, you have a lot more patience for fools than I do...

Clearly Mandrake is psychic... perhaps he knows how Derren does it?

OK, lets assume Mandrake is not psychic and his comments above were just a lucky "guess"...

Derren Brown achieves this effect with the help of magic, misdirection, psychology, showmanship, and as he has says in some of his performances... "quite a lot of bullsh*t".

NB. I am afraid I cant tell you how he does it for 2 reasons. I dont want to and I dont know the answer. There is a "watered down" version that is different but along similar lines on E.I. by Luke Jermay. You'll have to wait though, it's quite new and so may not have arrived at any of your favorite torrent sites yet.

How do I know you visit torrent web sites? easy... I'm a mind reader. I'll tell you what, teach you how I do it for 11p.
