I would also suggest that one does not start a move into magic and mentalism by bluntly asking that people explain how performers such as Derren "do things".
One of the most mind numbing things that ever happens on forum is the ENDLESS post motems of performers work... especially Derrens. The number of times people try and sound sooooo clever by "just happenning" to mention that "the method was obvious" is sadly transparent egotism at it's worst and serves no purpose, who cares? What do you want a medal...a prize...awe...friends...fame...a job?!?
Fine, study the pros. performance, the subtlties even the method and by all means enjoy the show and the skill but then, and here is an idea...DO something, buy a book, learn, perform and create your own material. 5 minutes with a search engine or 1 minute here will offer starting points for YOU to start to learn, from the begginning... not just be handed information on a silver platter, what good is that? What could you possibly learn from that? How good could you possibly be?
The whole world at the tips of peoples fingers via the power of modern computing and information technology and the best people can do is to say "Tell me"?! So many people have taken years and years to learn so much information. They have ACTUALLY read, watched, bought books, materials, tricks, DVDs, have spent endless hours practicing and socialising, have written material, invented tricks, marketed ideas, gone to performances, joined clubs, contributed to forums, taken up jobs to be able to afford resources and generally put real effort in... but you, in your first post here, via one bit of badly written txt speak simply request that these people just "tell you" how a top pro does things?! You can not honestly see why this is taken so badly?
Russpie, you have a lot more patience for fools than I do...
If we can hit that bullseye then the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards... Checkmate!
