Do you have to prove your worthiness to Jerry before he'll sell you a copy? I assumed you could just order one and that would be that. I don't subscribe, though, but I have been looking for a decent mag to start buying regularly. I downloaded a copy of Magicseen and that was pretty boring.

Magicseen is pretty darn good. I have all the issues from number 1 and don't find it boring at all.

You have to prove your worth to purchase something? With money? Whoa man, I've never heard of this crimp magazine. But that is pretty darn (fill in your own word) if they were giving it away that would be one thing but to charge? I would suggest to whoever is selling the thing that in order for me to purchase it they have to prove their worth to me before I hand over any money.

The Crimp is an excellent magazine, but Jerry has had some problems with being ripped off and having his stuff put on P2P networks. In order to combat that, he will only sell to people whom he trusts.

Take care, Ian

So how do we apply to buy? I've Googled but I can't work out where to get this mag from.

You have to go to his website http://www.jerrysadowitz.com and go to magicians only, enter the password, the email him personally asking somehow proving your not going to copy it, wait for him to reply, and I guess if he accepts you then pay him via ANOTHER email address.

Quite a drawn out process for a magazine of that type. It looks pretty...Sadowitz.

What a charming man.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

Ahh, I've met Jerry Sadowitz, also watched him get his nose broken (literally) while on stage performing at a Comedy fesitval because he insulted the wrong person. Still he would have to prove to me his magazine is worth buying. He could sell 70 thousand issues, doesn't mean its worth what its written on. I'm not saying its not worth it. I'm saying if anybody wants to sell me something I am certainly not going to go out of my way to 'prove' my worth. They have to prove that its worth my purchasing.

A terrible shame that he's been ripped off. That must really wound him. I wouldn't look at it as him seeking to only sell to those who are "worthy." Just people who he can trust. If he only sells to those he thinks he can trust not to rip him off, then good on him. He's keeping it alive, by keeping some things secret.
A shame there aren't many more like him out there.

According to his website, Benjamin Earle has ripped off his Any Card Triumph!

Although I like his comedy, he is generally nice in person, do you think that the wikipedia entry that says some of his effects are SO ADVANCED, only him and a few others in the world can perform them?

Hmm...

His Wikipedia entry is here:

Interesting reading, and quite up to date.
