Greetings from Los Angeles

Postby jbum » Aug 31st, '04, 20:13

Greetings.

My weblog shows a handful of visits to my website from one of the forums here (I'm not sure which one), so I thought I'd come by and contribute to the discussion (if I can find it).

I'm Jim Bumgardner, an amateur hobbyist, skilled mostly in one particular area, which is programming computers to behave as mediums. I like to take various techniques used in 19th century two-partner mentalist acts and program the computer to take one or the other of the parts.

I've created various computer-assisted effects, some of which I've made available on my website:

i polygraph

bondoogle

the oracle of batboy

metascope

These effects aren't really suitable for professional performance, but they can make amusing bits of impromptu magic.

Enjoy!

- Jim

Hi Jim

A big welcome to Talkmagic. It's good to see you here.

Your superb i-polygraph site has certainly been discussed in one of the rooms here. I am not usually a fan of internet magic, as it is normally so easy to work out what is going on but I-Polygraph is (imho) is in a class of it's own. Well done for the idea and the implementation. I have already had a lot of fun with it.

Thanks again for stopping by.
Simon

jim me likey it too, some thought provokeing stuff for the media age combining computers and magic is something that we should consider for the future as the great beige sorry berrry blue box slowly intergrates itself into our lives, media center with microsofts buggy software not withstanding.

the internet has brought us magi a wider audience for our skill and bookings and your computo-magic skill will be gratefully recieved when I can afford to get my site up and running in the near future, welcome to the board and hope to hear from you soon.

Yup I'm another person that was impressed with I polygraph, I'll have to take a look at the others.

Welcome to Talk Magic :)
