That's not a bad idea making a personal blog, but there's not much point inviting friends to see it if I'm going to be showing them the tricks. Also, the blog was initially intended as a personal blog, but then I joined this forum to ask people for advice on trick enhancement. However, thatdidn't work as well as I had planned, so i.e. I might just keep the tricks to myself.

I have a couple of Blogs, my public one and my private one - blogger will allow you to do that. It worked really well for me and keeps the secrets :D

I don't see the point of having a completely private blog. If you want a diary, why not just keep a notebook at home?

(Don't see a lot of point in having a public blog, either, but at least it has some rationale.)

A Blog public and/or private is not something for everyone. Sadly, I'm such a sad geek that my whole life is based on PC/Laptop/Electronic devices! lol

I've always worked on/with computers and it just makes sense for me to use them to organise my thoughts and life. It's horses for course really, however you journal your work doesn't matter as long as it works for you.

:D

Doing these things on computer allows me to tag and cross reference whatever I'm blogging, which in the case of my music one is useful as I have a fascination with musical family trees. I imagine a blog for magic could be a useful way of keeping track of all your tricks, being able to edit the performance notes easily and sort them out into logical routines.

How about installing Apache on a local machine and installing a piece of Wiki software? That way, you could tag and cross-reference until your heart's content, but there's be no exposure.

I never thought of the cross-referencing part.

What's a musical family tree? I'm picturing several possibilities here, and probably none of them is correct. (Not a very musical person.)

All the links between bands from playing together and members going onto form other bands. Black Sabbath being my favorite as they link to pretty much all other 70s rock groups. They've had Ian Gillian as the singer for born again linking them to deep purple, then later have Dio as the singer which links them to rainbow and back to deep purple. Rob Halford filled in for a while after Ozzy left linking them to Judas Priest. Judas Priest played at the final gig of Led Zeppelin (ignoring the reforms).

I enjoy tracing these little snippets of musical knowledge.

Ah, that makes sense. Way over my head, but it makes sense.

Don't know the names of any of the musicians you mentioned, but at least I have heard of the groups.

Feel free to expose your own tricks (Although have no idea why you would...). Just please don't expose others serets no mater how old they are.
