Although i was a little less impressed to learn that they add VAT to the price at the end of the transaction process... :?...

They don't add VAT to the cost of your order. If you look at the figures, you'll see that they quote the final order value and then tell you how much of that value is made up of VAT.

I would suggest: Buy only (or mainly) from those who support TalkMagic and buy adverts below!
Duh! :)

Call or email your prospective shops and ask about certain things you want to buy. Many shops claim that EVERYTHING IS AWESOME AND WILL KILL.

Other shops will give you the straight poop and let you know when something is not all that great.

Don't just go by price.

Support the shops that give you customer service and honest opinions about dealer items.

Sorry, how stupid of me. I know you usually get a summary of how much of the cost is inclusive VAT, but for some reason I thought it was being added. You're right though, they didn't add it. It was my poor ability to add up the costs properly. :?

As I mentioned in the first post though, I'm currently only buying the very basics and simple things. Couple of decks of cards, some sponge balls... etc.
So I don't need too much of a recommendation. When the time comes to buy something more, I'll definitely be one to harass the members here for opinions.

I've tried, and used most of the major shops, and haven't had many problems with any of them.

I've ordered the most from Dude That's Cool Magic, never had a problem with them, and their stuff has always arrived next day. Highly recommended, and usually my first choice.

I've also ordered from Practical Magic, the customer service is excellent, and are the quality of the goods, but the delivery is slightly slower, range smaller, and prices more expensive. They only sell top notch stuff though, so you do get what you pay for.

Magic Nevin has always been reliable, as have Merchant of Magic and MAGICMagic. Special mention to Mike Danata for being a nice bloke, his site isn't the easiest to browse, and doesn't feature his full range of stock, but if you call or e-mail him he'll be more than happy to help.

Well...I like it...

I've got to say I've had good experience with Mike at Dude That's Cool Magic.

Twice I've had to phone him to pay for things because his site doesn't like my bank card, very close to his shipping cutoff of 4pm, and twice the stuff has arrived the following day.

Very impressed; if his site liked my card and he sold everything I was after, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I use NUMs exclusively. This is largely because I know where Chris lives and I can fire bomb him if needs be.
