Just a quick question: I'm looking to fit a Topit to a set of morning tails, and was wondering if there were any especially suited to this, or whether I should just tinker.
To my knowledge a topit would work with your morning coat ( also called cut-away coat). But it also depend if you want to empty it during your performance without looking suspusious witch unfortunally you can't do that with your coat. As for topits heres a list of topits:
(the lower the number the more recomended it is)
1-Michael Ammar topit
2-Davenport/Patrick page topit
3-Fito Pavese Fitopit
4-Carl Cloutier topit
5-Dan Sylvester (AKA Sylvester the Jester) Suspended Dimention
Video recomendations:
1-topit dvd Michael Ammar
2-Expert topiting made easy by Carl Cloutier
3-Topit Workshop Bob Fitch
I wouldn't recommend expert toppiting made easy by Carl Cloutier. I was rather disappointed with this one. However, I would recommend the Patrick Page DVD but especially the Bob Fitch Topit Workshop.
I've reviewed the first two somewhere on TM if you care to take a look here.
I know a magician in the US who has a Topit in the tail and uses it to vanish doves. Excellent to see.
Dat - I had Jay Scott Berry install his full works in a jacket of mine but I can't seem to get the space needed for vanishes (even by lifting my elbow as suggested by Pat Page). Is is worth getting Bob Fitches workshop or am I throwing more money away ?

From reasearch on the internet. It looks like Bob Fitch's dvds look promising. He put out three dvds on the subject and sounds like he goes indeapth into it too.
Bill in Kiwi by Carl Cloutier teach some good topit moves and have great effects in it.
If I were putting a topit into my tails, I would buy some heavy black material that matches the colour of your suit. Then cut out the material in the shape of the tails while leaving an opening for the objects.
