Review:
The long awaited follow up to 100 Ways To Win A Tenner has finally arrived. It would be difficult to produce a second volume of 100 Ways so, sensibly, this book doesn't try that but concentrates on many ways of getting revenge, getting even, getting your own back and being a generally 'dirty' trickster. If you like, this is the next stage on from 100 Ways - this is where it gets down to street fighting level. Ignore the inside page where the publishers strongly recommend you don't try any of the dirty tricks mentioned due to ethical, moral, and legal issues and just select the ones which will work for you in particular circumstances. There are one or two references to Magic and Magicians but this isn't intended to be a book on Magic so don't expect anything more. In this volume you will learn how to get revenge on folks who have noisy car alarms, flatmates who steal your food, drinkers at the pub who are irritating in the extreme, you'll also learn many pranks especially suited for those at Uni. Toilet humour is well represented and it does involve the toilet itself. Find out how dealing publicly (and messily) with your zits gets you to the front of the queue in a fast food place. If you fancy doing a bit of basic computer reconfiguring on your last day at a lousy job then Paul shows you how to render someone's PC totally inactive even though everything looks normal. To provide a bit of balance, there are many pranks and japes which are more genteel and are based on old Victorian ideas and tricks and, as usual, Paul's humorous writing is a joy to read.

You could probably subtitle this book, 'How To Lose Friends And Irritate People', some of the ideas are rather extreme and you could most certainly be run out of town for a lot of them. However, I found myself thinking of various people I know who really deserve having some of the extreme pranks being played on them and, as soon as I arrange my one way ticket to somewhere without extradition arrangements, I might just do a few!

Value for Money: A solid 9/10.
C.U.P.S. Rating: 7/10 for normal folks but at least 10/10 for active sadists.

Thanks for the review Mandrake. Zenon's books are alwys worth a look.

So given the choice between this and 100 ways. Which one would you go for?

Difficult! I'd suggest 100 Ways first as it's comparatively more genteel and friendly whereas Dirty Tricks is chock full of ways to get your own back and is distinctly harsher. Both are darned good reads though!
