If you're looking for specific cards, you might find it easier to buy three one-way force decks and mix them up. Many retailers give you a choice of cards for a one-way deck, while the same choice is seldome available for three way decks.

Taking this route will leave you with three identical three-way decks, but that's not necvessarily a bad thing if you're talking about the effect I think you're talking about. I do that one a lot, and the deck can end up anywhere - on the floor, in puddles of beer...

Magicbox didn't let me pick the card in my one card forcer. Although there is a comments section as you order so they may take note if you slip something in there. It also came (rather annoyingly) in a Bicycle Seconds box.

I still love it though. I mainly use it for a certain trick from a certain devilish dvd by a certain magician. The first time I did it I felt awful... so cheap! But meh, I've gotten over that now and really enjoy using it. Although it is, I believe, something to be used very sparingly.

I am always tempted to see just how audacious I can be with a one card force... I'm tempted to try an ACR with it... No. I'd probably end up topping myself shortly after.

I like Daryl's idea of having a one way forcing deck, and one other card. Force the odd card, and use the mexican turnover on deck move as well as the hindu to convince them at the end that you are using a deck all of their card, only to reveal that every card is a different one!

"I want to do magic...but I don't want to be referred to as a magician." - A layman chatting to me about magic.

Oh that! I always thought it was a Sven!

On the subject of deck switches, despite their existence being obvious, the possibility that magicians used them had never occured to me before I learnt of them. Subsequently, I have spotted a reknowned magician perform a deck switch where he placed a heavily shuffled deck into his right jacket pocket as he warmed to a particilar theme in his patter, then, when set to continue with the effect, fished the deck out of his left jacket pocket. Very bold, and I doubt many other people, if any, noticed. Whereas most people are aware of gaff decks, the notion of decks coming in and out of play is nowhere near as widespread...

That's how I do my billet switch! Into the right hand, out of the left hand with nary so much as a blush.

Set up a three-way any way you want to suit your purpose, alternating or in blocks of seventeen. That's entirely up to you.

With regards to their use, as with any "normal" deck, just get them in and out cleanly and most will be none the wiser. I saw a magician, performing for others well-posted, swing a one-way in and out of the game. The swing wasn't anything revolutionary, it was just how he timed it in relation to the important matters at hand. It flew by everyone involved. I only saw it because he asked me to stand behind him.

I'd love to go into it more, but you know how that goes.
