Actually, I don't understand the "live and let live", "believe what you want to believe" attitude.

I'm an atheist, if you're religious that's no skin off my nose - I just think you're wasting your time on a Sunday morning (or whenever you chose to worship). If the religion you subscribe to means that you sincerely believe I will be damned for not following the true path, how DARE you NOT spend every waking moment trying to convert me? Isn't that just selfish?

Just a thought.

People have the right to believe what they want to believe. None of us know what's really out there until it's too late, we have to accept that and respect their views. I have my beliefs but can I say for certain that I'm 100% right and everyone else is wrong? Off course I can't so I've got no right to try to preach at them.

Well put.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

But, to continue playing devil's advocate, there are people who are 100% sure - don't they have a duty to save the rest of us?

I'm not saying this is what I want, I'm just following a (probably flawed) logical path.

I don't think that they do.

They're more than welcome to pop up a poster inviting us to come and be saved. But it's upto us if we want "to go to hell" or not and they need to accept and respect that descision.

I know 100% that an unhealthy life style kills people, but I've got no right to throw someones cigarettes in the bin and drag them out running with me. I know I'm doing all I can to try give myself a healthy lifestyle. If other people are happy ruining their bodies, then that's their choice.

It's flawed for Christians. The parable of the sower accepts that some people will hear the Word of God, and won't listen ("some fell on stony ground"). If the man Himself can accept it, it's not for his alleged followers to do more. So, spread the Word, but understand that lots of people won't heed it; that's what Jesus said.
