I was wandering if one can brag of having met oneself? ;-)

On reflection I suppose we all had the privilege of having met ourself. :-(

Magic is slight of mind!

I recently got to meet Penn and Teller when I was over in Las Vegas a couple of weeks back.
They were really great guys to speak to, had more of a conversation with Teller than I did Penn. He's quiet an intimidating person due to his size! Great people though.
While I was there (not magicians but hey...) Mikey and Paulie Jnr from American Chopper! I was made up that night. Unfortunatly our camera ran out of batterys so we never got to have a photo opp with Penn n Teller or American Chopper guys but I did manage to get an Autograph from P n T on one of their programs.

I haven't met anyone famous (magic wise) before. The main two people I'd like to meet is Max Maven and Mac King.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

Sitting in a pub with the man of mystery himself, Mr. Berglas has been my absolute magic-meeting highlight...

especially when he picked up someone's Ellusionist deck of cards and asked "what on earth are these?"

I seriously don't think I've ever been in the same room as a "pro" magician. I've met about half a dozen people on my own level, but above that... I don't really know the "scene" that well, if that's the right term - in fact, since joining here, this is the most magicians I've ever spoken to.

Of who I know, I think Derren Brown, Lennart Green and Teller would be great to talk to - but that's because they strike me as funny and pleasant sorts more than anything. I mean, when you guys rubbed shoulders with the elite did you "talk shop"? What did you talk about? I'm not sure I'd like to discuss magic with people so achingly superior to myself.

Dale,

Nice line up. But why has no-one mentioned Alan Shaxon. when I was a novice magician in the early 1990's my mentor introduced me to Alan and Ali Bongo. Two very nice blokes.
