Maybe it's just me, but I never looked at coins a few years ago and said: "Damn, these look just like the ones I got yesterday. How boring! I wish they came in a bunch of designs so I could collect them instead of spending my hard earned money. That'll be great! Then I can get stuck behind a grandma in the checkout lane while she goes through her coins explaining which ones each of the grandkids need to complete their "collection"."
