Pricess / Fees

I have been asked to set up a booth for a Autumn Festival and make balloon animals. The booth space is free and I charge per balloon. It has been forever since I have bought a balloon animal from someone.

So here is my question. What is a fair price to charge for a balloon animal?

Ok i can only answer as a mummy.

i know my kidlets will eventually pop it so i would only be expecting a simplistic animal and as i have two kids i would probably pay £5 for the both of them.

As a grown up for one of your fab complex ones I'd pay a fiver for one for me lol. But certainly not for my kidlets as will go pop.

Quick suggestion though, are you able to contact other stall holders prior to the event?
Maybe offer than a unique decor for their stall, ie fruit stall? Slightly discounted but gets your fab stuff seen.........

£5! Good grief! I'm going to move down to kent and be a balloon modeller! A bag of a 100 balloons only costs a fiver. If I was to charge for a simple balloon (dog, cat, sword etc) I'd be charging either 50p or £1 each depending on what i thought I could get away with. £1 per balloon is £95 profit on a bag. You can do 100 balloons an hour if you're just doing swords, hats etc. That's not a bad return.

Mind you, if you can get a £2.50 per balloon, go for it! :D

I think some guy/lady in Chester was charging about £4 for a monkey on a long balloon which you tied into a hat.

No idea how that compares or is of any use to you

I was going to suggest a couple of quid per balloon, too. I bet you'd love me and Snuffy to turn up at your festival, eh?

Thanks for the info. I was thinking somewhere around $1 - $2 each. I have never worked a festival before, usually when I do parties the balloons are included.

How long are you there for? If your there a couple of days, you could price different ballon animals between £1 and £4 based on complexity, and if none of your more expensive ones get brought you can lower the price.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

The festival is only for 1 day from 10am - 4pm. I think I have it worked out now. Thanks for all of your help. I'm planning on $2 for the basics and $4 for the more complex ones

That sounds reasonable, if the customers like your work you might get future bookings out of it so if you don't actually make any money, call it advertising!

I Charge £1 for a 1 balloon model, and 50p for every balloon after. So a flower or a dog on a hat would be £1.50. If you are charging for balloons Its best to keep them simple.

Do you charge extra for blowing them up?

Seriously, Tony once made me a pink panther baloon for my daughter and it was stunning! I'd have paid a tenner for it no problem but being the gent he is, he gave it free of charge.

I suppose that the cost increases for the more complex model and rightly so. A lot of people can do dogs etc. but bigger and more complex model is, it take it to another level and you shouldn't undersell it.
