I use a fake apple in one of my routines and the problem was that I kept on bumping it and it would roll off the table. It made the kid's laugh, but made my routine a bit messy. What I did was make hole in my table top so that smal neo magnets could fit in - then i glued a small washer to the underside of the fake apple.
I have a close up mat on top of the table top so the attraction isn't too strong - but enough to keep the apple in place.
It works well - so I've started doing that with other props that could blow over if I have to perform out doors, and I've positioned a few magnets around my table top. I plan to put a magnet at the bottom of my bowler hat so that it will stand on my table without rolling over.
