This will probably only make any kind of sense to UK and European siblings, but I had a cheeky idea on the way to work regarding what happens when your decks get a little less than pristine. This line of thought was in part inspired by the rain-buckled Masters that I fished out of a forgotten pocket in my man bag.
Conventional wisdom has it that these decks are ideal for doing any card-torturing effects - signing cards, torn and restored and the like, but another possibility would be to give them to friends. Here in the UK, despite cardicians favouring the usual poker-sized Bikes and the like, the dreaded bridge-sized Waddingtons Players still reign supreme, and many effects that can be done with a borrowed deck aren't all that accessible as a result. Thus the gifted decks become a kind of Trojan horse, where you're ensuring your friends' cards are appropriate for your dextrous manipulations. Not only that, but it should make it easier for you to incorporate gaffed cards.
I realise this, like many of my ideas, is painfully obvious, but I thought I'd throw it into the ring regardless.
