The Magellan Master Levitation

Postby Craig Browning » Sep 25th, '08, 16:56

It is rare that you'll see me do this sort of thing but I was recently introduced to a little something one of my associates has just brought onto the market that some of you may have an interest in. All I can say is visit this web site and watch the videos...

I've seen several performances on youtube because I'm subscribed to the inventor.

I think it's cool but have an idea on how to do it and it seems a good idea in theory.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

hmm... I think I've seen that link somewhere recently... where was that...?

Does look impressive though, the first performance on the link was really good. The second, though, the performer was constantly looking at his feet and dancing or fidgeting around. His reveal was likewise stiff armed and mechanical.

One video makes it look very impressive, the other a little fidgety and, perhaps, cheap.

Any illusion where somebody has to post numerous times on different forums advertising it, is obviously not worth my time!

Not that I perform illusions anyway!

I don't think this piece has been posted "many times" on several forums... it might be at the Cafe, I was on Jimmy's mailing list is how I found out about it.

I think Jimmy's biggest "problem" is that he has little to no marketing experience nor anyone helping him out in that department at present, which may be why some repetition exists.

This may be just be a wording thing, we had four posts here promoting the same effect, with the same link, some resurrecting very old threads so it looks like just an advertising campaign for a rather expensive piece of kit.

I thought it was rather obvious and if I'm wrong on how I think its done then there is yet another way. Of course I am not a huge fan of illusions of this sort. But the audience did seem to like it and I can see the appeal if one was so inclined.

Any thoughts on value for money? $995 plus carriage costs is quite a sum.

Do we have anyone here (i.e. a regular) that has this or performs it?

I thought I may have seen someone say so - but I could be misremembering and it was actually the plugger that said so... and I'm not sure if all the threads that were started are still around.

All the duplicate posts are long since moved out of sight but there was nothing in any of them other than one post advertising the effect and the link.

I have this and use it in 99% of my shows. It plays very well for all ages. It's not hard to get the hang of and very easy to transport for any venue. If you are looking for a very deceiving and portable levitation that gets great reactions you will like this. Now let me say- I never met Jimmy Fingers and have no agenda for pushing this. In my experience he has great customer service and helped/answered with any questions I had. The only issue- can't have anyone behind or directly to the sides of you.
