Steve Martin

This is Steve Martin on The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross back in 1987. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-B-nPW3e60 There is a bit of 'magic' after about 6 minutes but I found the whole clip funny. Actually I've just bought Steve Martins autobiography 'Born Standing Up' and I imagine it features magic in the early part of his career so will try and post a review when I finish in case anyone is interested.

his book, features magic right the way through.
I urge anybody reading this, to invest in the audio version, as well as the book, because hearing it read by Steve, ( every word too, not edited) is a whole new experience.

I love Steve Martin.

He has a rather decent pressure fan.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

Thanks for sharing that clip.

Steve Martin is, in my opinion, one of the funniest and smartest comedians of our time.

I can not more highly recommend his aforementioned book, Born Standing Up, and agree 100% with dale about the audio version as it is one of my absolute favorite audio books. It is highly introspective and full of wonderful advice, tips, and thoughts for the performer.

Good grief, I'd forgotten that 'Wossy' once had short hair and ears on view! To be honest, I found that a lot of Steve Martin's stuff was becoming a bit silly and embarrassing but that might just be my perception. My favourite bit of his career was as Orin Scrivello, DDS, the maniac dentist finding 'a way to make his natural tendencies pay' in Little Shop of Horrors - absolute gem of a performance  !

Nah. Martin wasnt the best dentist. but then the film, wasnt any where near as good as it could of been.

Ive seen the original west end production many, many times, and have been in it myself once. ( Mushnick, i got to be chomped on by Audry2 and had a couple of great numbers ) :D

I made an Audrey II for my son's school production many moons ago - he was the plant and got a great reception :D ! When the show is touring we usually go to see it, twice in Scotland while we were on holiday, three times in the Midlands area and each stage version was certainly better than the film. I still like the film though  !
