I just heard that I've passed my exam and am now a member.

Hurrah!

And to answer Paul's question, I just did my own thing rather than run through a set catalogue of requested sleights. I don't know if that worked for or against me with regard to the scoring, but I still got in. :)

I'm a happy bunny.

Thanks everyone!

Hopefully it's also been good news for the other TMers that applied...

Do you actually perform for someone or do you perform by yourself with people watching you?

There were three judges, and about thirty members in the audience. I got the impression that members were simply invited to sit in for the exams before the evening's lecture started. It was quite informal, accomodating stand-up or close-up magic, but I wouldn't recommend bringing along any big box illusions... It's a nice parlour atmosphere. And friendly too. But, as has already been said... nerve-wracking!

You audition upstairs in The Devant room, where any Magic Circle member is able to come and watch.

There are always the 3 judges, and usually 20 -40 members watching on an average night
