Effect
You take a packet of Polo's (which can be borrowed), and ask a spectator to take one and/or initial it You take a Polo, rub the two together, and suddenly they become completely linked! Rub them together again, and just as easily they separate.
You can pass them out for examination or eat the evidence - entirely up to you!
Can be done just a few centimetres from a spectator's eyes. A REAL visual miracle.

What can I say, it’s a lot easier then carrying around big metal linking rings as you only need a packet of polo’s. I got this trick yesterday started performing it within 5 mins very visual the only thing is that the gimmick is a bit darker but no one seems to notice. Apart from that a good trick

I have this too and the gimmick colour match is a bit off. I found giving it a bit of a light wash in soap and water brought the colour much closer.

Noticed there is a slight size mismatch too, but nobody seems to notice when I perform the trick.

Despite the above criticisms I like this, the gimmick is nicely made.

Yes. The slight colour and size difference is not sufficient to spoil the effect when performing the trick, though those aspects could be improved on by the makers.

The most important aspect of the gimmick is good, i.e. no join visible.

I assume you don't mean passing out the polo & gimmick for examination at the end as the texture of the gimmick can give the game away (as well as the aforementioned slight colour (mis)match).

Even easier to carry around than Jay Sankey's '3 Ring Circus' plus the bonus that you can eat your props.

I have done this since seeing another magician do it, and it wasn't untill quite a long time after I tried it that I heard of a version on sale. Consequently I have always made my own gimmicks with polos and non harmful glue, it takes a little while to get the hang of breaking the polos without shattering them but once you do it is great as you can give away the linked polos at the end. I suppose you could even use a sugar based glue or something that is used in the cake industry for sticking little flowers and things on cakes so that there is no chance of anything fishy being detected later.

Now, before any of you start laughing/shouting/whatevering:
A friend of mine used to be a salesman at Loctite. As part of their sales demo for SuperGlue, they used to show how strong it was (and wasn't). One other thing they used to do was to put it into their coffee as a sweetener (it's water-soluble).
I've forgotten the number of times I've glued my fingers together (just to see people's reactions) and then spent a good few minutes (having freed my fingers) chewing at the dried-on glue.

Well I experimented with superglue the first time I did it, but found that on eating the polos I soon found the glue, so it became less usable as it was likely that someone would work it all out.

I have experimented with a glued home-made version and they can be quite effective, but I can't find a way to link two signed Polos with a home-made set as I can with the commercial Linking Polo gimmick.

Not sure how strong it will be on polos but on icing it's really strong and as polos are basically sugar it should be ok. (If you want me to check for you just let me know as I have some at home.. just need to get some polos)

Unfortunately I have no idea how to do the linking polos so all i can do is tell you about the glue !

Anyway.. just let me know it you want me to experiment..

providing you eat them, just use that free stuff on the end of your tounge.I have exactly this method in a magic book, published in the 50's when the effect was first created.

A friend has got linking polos and I think that they are good but lots of times when he or I did it they worked it out. I think the gimmick can be seen a bit to easily.

I think its a good trick the gimmick is a bit off colour but apart from that its a good trick. I usualy unlink the and give one to the spectator and i have one. this makes the trick a lot better

the olly problem withthe gimmick i have found is the fact i never have the peppermint (white) polos only the spearmint (the dotty ones)so the home made versoin is fine and i cut them with a small serated fruit knife and if one breaks who cares eat it and try again!!

as for the glue i like using home made glue
small amount of hot water and icing sugar minx till it is thin like er pva consistancy (slighty thiner than that if you can) and apply to one side it will dry very quickly so you need to act fast put the 2 halfs togetherand allow it to set make sure you wipe the exesse off the face though
a teaspoon of mixture should do almost 10 polos!!

anyway thats my method!!
