A good start, but there's a few problems that I have with it.
1 - You start the overall effect with a "try to see a card" kind of thing, but don't place any real emphasis on it. Yes, you might get a hit from it, but you seem to blow it off. Also - remember that you show the wrong card. To me, this makes the effect seem to fail (in the context of the Blaine variation - you're trying to get the correct card). This effect (to me) isn't meant to be played as a "card trick", but the miss and color change turns it into one.
2 - Speaking of the color change, it tends to hurt the whole thing. Take each phase of this routine in context. You change the card from one to another. You are creating the conclusion to the paperclipped phase before you even introduce it. You've made one card change - it just seems that most audiences will instantly think their card will change into the paperclipped card.
3 - The context of the paper clip didn't make sense to me. Perhaps if the clipped card was brought out before the selection was even made? This might make the overall effect more convincing, as a prediction.
