Thought you might be interested to see a video promotion for the Southern England Magic Convention, to be held at Lakeside Complex next Jan 31st 2009. You can see from this video what a GREAT venue it is, & the many facilities it has to offer!

Trainers are banned. How ridiculous. Probably made up by an old man who thinks trainers = Chav.

"I want to do magic...but I don't want to be referred to as a magician." - A layman chatting to me about magic.

Trainers are banned because Bob Potter (who owns the complex) is very particular about the flooring, why not after all he owns the place!!

As far as I am aware, no one else is banned!!

Assuming the lecturers, gala show performers party and venue all require paying for by the organisers and the tickets are £28 each I'm guessing the organisers will make an horrendous loss ???

Look at it another way, those conventions that charge over twice as much are making an enormous profit.

Knowing one of the organisers personally (Collin Richardson) I can state categorically that this convention is not about profit at all!

The Convention is being run by magicians for magicians. The most important thing is that the convention is enjoyed by all the registrants, if Collin breaks even, he'll be a very happy person. If he makes a loss, but everyone says they had a great convention, he will also be a very happy person!

The venue is ideal for a convention of this type, & in year 2010 it will be a TWO DAY event! with even more surprises!
