Sponge balls are great fun aren't they? :D

There's a good sponge ball routine in Mark Wilson that's worth a play with and Sponge Ball Tool Box is also well worth watching.

Yeah but Mark Wilson only has the one routine. Unfortunately. :(

But, Mark Wilson teaches all of the basics. Personaly, I love performing sponge balls because there so different and unique, plus they are extremely versitile.

I personally use Jay Sankey's Earplugs. They are inherently funny and actually present a logical segway into the sponge balls.

"Sorry, can't hear you, I'm wearing earplugs..... While they are here, why not try something really cool?"

Yeah, now imagine approaching a member of the audience and saying "could you hold these for a minute?"

Aside from the normal trasnpoistions and multiplying spongeballs in which adults and kids suprisingly like (sometimes I get hair raising reactions that I have special powers by using red balls), I also do the classic "Two in the hand, one in the pocket" routine. Always entertaining :)

But the routine has so many phases you can easily split it into 3 routines & you only need 1 routine for performance purposes anyway

bloody hard work this spongeball nonsense. maybe the 2 inch balls were a bit ambitious to start with.

Stick with the sponge balls, they're well worth the effort. If you haven't already, look at getting yourself a copy of Sponge Ball Toolkit, really really worth the money.

Also the routine in Mark Wilson is well worth learning. Yes there is only one routine but that routine incorporates all the basic ideas into a very nice routine.

I'm quite superstitious before showing a sponge routine, unless I take my balls out and give them a quick kiss I find it quite hard to go on and perform.

.....I'll get my coat....

Just finished ploughing through 'The Encyclopedia of Sponge Ball Magic DVD'. With over 30 vanishes and 20 odd routines, it's pretty good value for money (and comes with obligatory set of spongeballs). Also got 'Spongeball Toolbox' and Jay Noblezada's 'Sponge'. Will do a review of 'Encyclopedia' when I finish my shifts next week and see how it compares to the other two.

If anyone's thinking of a purchase before then, or just want to find out what's on it, then feel free to pm me

I love sponge balls but need to work on a new routine, though they are about to become "little pumkins" for the halloween gigs I have. (I use orange 2" balls as standard. (IB the lot)

On a side note, is there some way of training my body to actually like the feel of sponge balls? For some reason I just don't like the feel of a sponge against my skin...
