I love Poundland. One of them in Newcastle (there are several  ) plays the best background music ever. Lots of 80s power ballads. I found them selling marked decks a while ago - how cool is that?

Sunderland, which is about 13 miles away from Newcastle and is generally considered a sh*thole, has a 99p shop. It closed down recently despite a half price sale.

Talking about pound shops I was recently in Ireland (on a 3 day school rugby tour) and I went into Poundworld. I wasn't expecting to find anything magic related but while browsing in the shop I found a set of two packs of World Poker Tour cards, complete with a carry case! I immediately bought two of them (any more and the shop owners would probably either think I was a bit strange or was holding a mass poker tournament).

Turns out though these decks are actually great quality and what really made me smile was the fact that they sell for almost three quid a deck on the internet, and that's without the carry case!
