magic set bargains at tescos

Postby daleshrimpton » Oct 21st, '08, 17:21

if you have a huge tescos near by, then run in as fast as you can, because they have put a couple of the large marvins sets out at silly prices.
In particular, the freaky body magic set, which comes with the Kevin James aproved severed arm Illusion. ( perfect for Halloween by the way)

the price of this kit?

£11.70.!!!!!!!
they are almost giving the thing away!

My local Tescos have now reduced this to clear at £5.49 per box :!: :!:

Fantastic value - I bought 2.

Includes: Head Twister illusion
Watch Winder gimmick (crunching bones)
Stretchy Ear
Body levitation illusion
Living Hand in Box
Ghost Hand
Kevin James Torn arm / living hand
+ DVD

Too good to give to kids as a xmas present - buy them all up before the kids ruin them

this head twister illusion does that mean you get to twist you head right round because I've been working on making that illusion and if someones done it first I think I might cry.

This has been put out by several people involving a box over the head with a panel to see the face. There is a version where the head appears to be twisted right around and afterwards the neck appears corkscrewed but in this version you turn the box and the head in it 'right around'

Isn't there a danger that when you perform one of these some **** is going to yell out "Bought one of those in Tesco"?

True, but the same could be said about any item in kids' magic boxes including TT. Also, presumably they haven't been selling very well or they wouldn't have reduced them to such silly prices to clear

I got the body illusions box last year cheap from Smiths, primarily for the torn arm illusion, which has always been a favourite. Come to think of it, there was a third hand in there that I've never used...

I just heard that apparently "Justin Monehen, who I believe designed the set, used some of it in his act for TMC Stage Magician of the Year. Whilst he didn't win, it was a very effective act - all his props and costume were in black and green, and it was a silent act with magic as well as the freaky stuff."

You have to go to a large one that sells lots of toys - I tried Beaconsfield first but their toy dept. wasn't large enough so got mine from High Wycombe town centre (Eden Mall) and there were about 10 left

I checked the online tesco store and found a bit of a surprise considering the shows anti-magic leanings.
