Tinkerbell is the Talking Clock now???

Postby queen of clubs » Oct 26th, '08, 20:12

Have I finally gone completely mad and started auditory hallucinations or is Tinkerbell now the Talking Clock?

I just rang it to check on the exact time (for those who don't know, it's #123 from any UK based phone) and I had to ring back a few times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Madness!

WTF? Was "the time sponsored by Accurist is..." not street enough? Were they not getting their share of the pink pound?

You're quite right, but it's only for a few months. It is, as you might guess, a Disney promotional stunt.

Sounds like the Lomster if you ask me. She's moonlighting again.

I vow from this day forth to never phone the talking clock again, if I had to listen to that but once a day I think I would commit suicide. Such a bore I know

I didn't know tinkerbell spoke English. But then I haven't seen the Disney version I've just read the book, so what do I know.

Yes, she utters the words and her fairy powers translates the words for us. A bit like a fairy tardis.

And what's with not having seen Disney's Peter Pan? Does not compute. :?

It is better than having to stick a fish in your ear.

I nearly went and got the phone to find out. But luckily it was on that link. I've never really phoned that number before, but this is putting me off from ever phoning it.

Well... What do you expect what with the recession hitting Neverland particulary hard and all that.. Poor old captain hook has even been reduced to late night tv chatline work...

Whoa

I hadn't even heard the woman who is apparently the usual speaking clock - I assumed it was still (and always would be) the stiff upper lip guy. Shame.

The most annoying/amusing thing about this is her introduction every time, it's like she's got a goldfish's memory or something!

"Hi, it's Tinkerbell! On the 3rd bell, the time will be..."
"Hi Tinkerbell, nice to meet you, my name's..."
"Hi, it's Tinkerbell!"
"Yeah, cool, caught it first time actually. As I was saying, my name's..."
"Hi, it's Tinkerbell!"
"...Are you on drugs? Why do you keep saying-"
"HI! IT'S TINKERBELL!"
"I don't care! Shut up!"
"HI! IT'S TINKERBELL!"
"Right! That's it! I'm going to give you a DAMN GOOD thr-"

And so on. :D

Also, note the way they use the tenous fact that she's from a book by an English author to hide the fact they're blatantly whoring themselves to a massive Yankee corporate beast :?

How much Sunny Delight has that woman had? She sounds like an excited nine-year-old
