Effect:
You show a spectator a card and tell him to put it under his/her thumb. Then you pull the card from the middle of your deck. and the card under their thumb is a defferent one.

It is a very simple trick once you know how it's done... but so far all of my spectators for this one screamed........very cool effect

The card under the finger IS face down... The number of different style effects you can do with the knowledge of one simple slight is quite amazing - you can invent your own tricks to suit the occasion!!!

This sounds like a trick I learned as Instantaneous Transposition. I thought I leared it from Expert Card Technique: Close-Up Table Magic by Hugard and Braue, but now I can not find it in the book to give you a page number.

It is a simple but strong effect.

If there is some interest, I can post the method in the M.O. Section

Yea Sammy that would be great.

I "think" I know the method, Does it involve a "Pulling Back action", if you know what I mean? If I am wrong, I would love to hear the method.

I just posted Instantaneous Transposition in the M.O. Section in the General catagory.

It's simple and specs love it.

I have found this trick (finally) in a book.

It is published in Card Manipulations Series 1-5 by Jean Hugard on page 25 and is called Invisible Transit. The book is published by Dover.

This book cost about $8.00 US and is frequently available at used bookstores for even less.

Every Hugard book I have seen is worth adding to your library.

Hi there Stone and welcome to this forum.

I am afraid we try to discourage openly discussing how effects are carried out here in the open part of this site, since as I am sure you would agree, it is important to keep secrets only within the realm of other Magicians. You are currently in the open "Review" forum and to discuss effects you would need access to the Magician's Only part of this forum.

I hope that's OK, since I personally am not a Moderator and if you wanted to discuss this effect, there is nothing I (or most of us here) could do to stop you.

... Tony

PS. Welcome once again and hopefully we will hear a lot more from you!
