Hello everybody from Spyker

Hi to all of you!

I have been browsing this forum for a couple of months now and decided it was about time to register.

My name is Henk and have been sucked into magic 6 months ago. I used to do some really lame tricks for my 6 year old (twin) nieces. I needed more serious tricks so I visited a local magic shop. The owner showed me a few tricks, which completely amazed me. My interest in magic was really sparked (before it was only Derren Brown dvd's). I left with a TT and silk, spunge balls, some trick decks and a pen thru bill. My nieces loved it and I decided I wanted to discover more of magic because it really intrigues me (also because of the psychological aspects of it).

I bought some books and dvd's. Among others the classics Mark Wilsons CCIM, RRTCM, Expert Card Technique, Erdnase Expert Cardtable, Bobo, Tamariz' Mnemonica, Derrens Devils Picturebook, Corinda's 13 Steps, Annemans Mental Magic and have been studying and practicing a lot (a bit too much according to my wife :? )

I signed up for the Learned Pig website (with truckloads of material!) and last month I visited the Dynamite Magic Day and attended lectures of Greg Wilson, Pavel and Hayashi. It was amazing to see these pro's in action and be able to meet them.

This is definitively a hobby to stay!

Best regards and hope to meet all of you on this forum,

Henk (a.k.a. Spyker)

PS
forgive me my poor mastery of the English language as it is not my mother tongue.

Welcome to T.M Spyker.
It seems you already have acquired all the material knowledge to be an expert magician.
Hope we can be helpful to you. :D

Amazing, a beginner who has acquired all the necessary learning material without TalkMagic's assistance. More people like you please.

Hello and welcome Henk. You are definitely on the right road with the material that you have, and if I dare be so bold, may I suggest adding some David Williamson to your collection? It sounds like you researched well, before buying, as I don't know of many that were as lucky as you have been with their initial selections. I am a 24/7 magician, so I get the same reaction from the missus as you do-lol. All the best, and it's nice to come across a novice that has the right mindset.
