Hey Dan,

I saw Erazer before I bought Defaced. They are two very different effects using a common principle but both the methods and the presentations are different. The clean visual change of the card whilst it's sat in the fan is unique to Defaced and to be honest, the reason I went for it in the first place. Defaced deck also has more scope for modifications to its routine.

Hope that helps too! Yeh, let us know how you get on! :)

Just got this picked up for me yesterday, but needed to order some special stuff so i can also do the spec drawing on a card idea.

At the moment I havent decided using the red pen as sugested in the book is a good idea, or how easy it is to hide, have tested on back of seconds to see what its like, does make it so much quicker to know whats going on, and on tests does seem almost invisble.

Has any one done the "show both sides of the deck to be blank" i dont seem to have a method in my booklet to show me how to do that.

I do have a method i belive will work on one of my Garcia videos as he does an effect on there where the entire pack is double backed. but havent got round to trying that yet as ill have to dig the dvd out.

other than that effect is great, still needs more work for me and looking forward to the the post coming to get the "stuff" so i can start testing it with drawn cards.

As I've said in a previous message you might want to use the "special stuff" on the whole deck to give it a top up. I know I had to.

I didn't go with the red pen as I was worried it would be noticed and, once done, there'd be no way of removing it. I find counting through whilst showing the blanks is do-able and whilst they are drawing you can sneak a glance to check you got it right. If you are one or two out you can always quickly re-arrange whilst they are perfecting their masterpiece!

I don't recall there being a "showing both sides to be blank" bit. Has that been mentioned on here?

just re-read, the description on magicbox.uk.com, it does say "the whole deck may be shown front and back" and interprated this as being able to show the whole deck as blank, where as I belive it means that you can just show both sides of the cards, eg to show they all have backs but the faces are all blank.

I have tweaked the performance so I can hand out the deck for examination before I start the effect,But this may not be perfect for every one,

if any one is interested let me know (cant post on directly on the board incase of exposure, but pm me)

I use the red pen Dean; if you think about your handling it needn't even be exposed for most of the effect. It's really not obvious even when it is, and depending on their selection, you may get away with it being totally invisible anyway!

Just think it looks cleaner and is quicker!

Still going well though. Fully integrated into close-up routine cuz I have a nice set of effects talking about imagination etc.

I made a selection of cards with the red pen method, treated them my self and came back to the deck a few days later and I got a bit confused as I couldnt see where I had used the red pen, I scanned the entire deck, then all of a sudden I could see.

Improves the speed at which it can be done
