What's the best card handling book

Postby Johnny Bravo » Oct 22nd, '04, 19:24

I was wondering what is the best card handling book to buy in your humble opinions.

I have Royal Road but I find the lack of pictures & that some of the instructions are hard to follow so I'm ideally looking for something that really talks you through steps, with plenty of diagrams/photos.

Would be great to hear you folks's others preferances so I can order some new books.

I know a lot of these books are reviewed in the Reviews section but it's a big list, I'm also sure I came accross this topic elsewhere t other day but using the search I couldn't find it. So sorry for starting a new one.

you could try Card control by Arthur Buckley or Counts, cuts, moves and subtlety by jerry Mentzer. Expert at the card table by Erdnase is often mentioned in this sort of thread but its sometyimes hard to get to grips with whats being put across (although the "Annotated Erdnase" by Darwin Ortiz (we are not worthy!) helps with most of the stuff in the Expert at the card table book)

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

I can vouch for the Card College Series. It gives a good foundation for card work. Five volumes, so they can be expensive. Not only do you invest your money, but you must be willing to invest your time to get the most out of them.
