I normally use Crazy Browser, even though it tends to make people chuckle when they find out! I downloaded Firefox yesterday but the appearance of TM isn't as good as with Crazy Browser, fonts are less distinct and grey rather than black. The incompatibility business with First Direct and non IE reminds me of the bad old days of Netscape vs. IE where websites had to be dual compatible and many sites stopped trying for both, just IE as the 'chosen' one. Sounds like we're back to those daft days....

Well, it turns out that IE7 is not working for me either. Rat poo. Perhaps I will check out this Crazy Browser that Mandrake is talking about. I've never heard of it before. (Is Mandrake on the shandy again?)

Intravenously but that's not important right now! CB was suggested on here ages ago as it has anti-popup features which IE didn't have at that time. I kind of got used to CB but my kids laugh like drains when they see it!

I'm enjoying firefox more and more (not the film that was dreadful). I've got it running on my intel netbook nicely. I've disabled ipv6 and its running a lot faster now too.

I especially like the mock vista tabs add on you can get. Very useful - it was the only thing i liked about vista to be honest. So now i have the ease of use of XP, coupled with the taunt, lean sexy casing of Mozilla Firefox.

I use Opera and love it. Opera Mini is by far the best browser for mobile phones, too.

There are few sites that aren't compatible with anything but IE. Annoyingly, I can use my internet bank in Opera for everything except paying bills, for which I have to switch to IE.

Well, I've written to First Direct asking why on earth their system only supports IE. Fancy that, eh? An internet bank that only supports a single browser.

It's the first time in over eight years that I've had cause for complaint against FD.

I believe there are a couple of Firefox extensions that will masquerade your browser ID string

Yeah, I've already tried one called Open in IE. Unfortunately, because I can't get IE to work, this add-on is no use to me at the moment. Every time I try to open any page using IE, I just get this error message...

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I think the virus must have corrupted something when it attacked my laptop and now I can't get IE to run at all, which is why I'm on Firefox. But my internet bank will only run on IE. Highly frustrating. Image
