Why is there a need for subforums in the mentalist area which are almost unused? and why a whole subforum for corinda???

oh and why is there one subforum for tarot interpretations? i believe a thread would suffice and why is it in the secret area??? i mean what trick secrets on the market are revealed there???

just wondering guys...i know im new here and stuff but i believe the forum could use some restructuring

maybe have some division in cards, coins, other or something liek that or close-up and stage. i dont know seems mre natural to me. I mean you have one misc and tipps in the general where there are really lots of different topics that can come up and like 50 in mentalist where the scope is already narrowed by the forum name itself

Im not sure what you mean regarding your posting ? Im not sure if you are aware that this forum is a very public and well visited forum,have you noticed how many visitors at anyone time we have here lurking hence the need to protect ourselfs and magic from exposure to all and sundry.

As i understand the private sections have been set up so that the working pros can have a place to discuss their own ideas and methods without worrying about exposure of their ideas and getting them blantley ripped off after all the hard work they have put into things.

Im sure that you understand that it is nothing personal against you or the other members that these sections are off limits to us fledglings untill time proves otherwise.

you seemed to have misunderstood my post - i did not want to suggest to make the areas that are restricted accessible to everyone but to give this forum some more logical structure...i mean corindas bok is great but does it really needs its own forum??? and in the general section you have only the tips and misc areas so everything regardless if its mentalist, cards, coins, stage or whatever gets stashed in there. seems a little bit of a weird division to me.

and what i still dont get is why are tarot interpretation in the restricted part? whats so secret about it? i mean internet is overabundand with information on tarot and ways to interpret it. and besides...however great it is does it also needs a forum of its own?

I cant help you with what you are asking sorry as i do not know what the sections contatined reveal,perhaps mandrake or the mods can steer you in the right direction regarding your questions,however im sure that all the post/sections are very valid and will pertain to somebody some how on some kind of level.

Ahh greetings - cool,i was a bit confused with you using greets at the end of your post's as greetings in usually a way of saying hello and not goodbye or regards or sincerly as you may see at the end of a letter or posting.

I think with the Corinda forum, we started off with a thread for each of the chapers in the mentalists forum but it took up so much room that it was decided that a seperate forum would be a good idea.

The tarot interpretaions foeum happened for pretty much the same reason. As for why it's in the mentalists only section, I think that was mainly so these things could be discussed without the usualarguements that tend to spark up when it's raised the open forum.

Yeah, the tarot section has more in it than simply the meanings of the cards, and as Lady of Mystery rightly points out - when these things are discussed in the open forums there are usually some less open minded people who take it upon themselves to denounce all things psychic and things can get out of hand rather quickly. By keeping it in the "secret" section we can just play nicely together out of harm's way.

You see, the Mentalist Only section has 582 topics, with 5516 posts.
There are 14 topics and 89 posts in Corrianda.

Now take a look at Miscellaneous, or support and tips.

Going along the same principle as making it easy for people to read 14 threads, it kind of seems odd that there is a reluctance to sort out some more magic headings.

I haven't access to the mentalist area, nor expect or want it. I would say that I think it is right to keep that area out of reach, for all the reasons mentioned.

I still wonder where the requests for extra mentalism sections are, as they don't seem to be in Forum Requests. It seems this is bypassed, yet every time other, magic sections are asked for, we get told no, as it will start to look like the big green forum.

It always seems to sound as if I'm having a go at mentalists, but I'm honestly not. That section, (plus the secrets area of magic) seem to have too many headings for the amount of use, while magic is relagated to just TWO headings.

Wonder if the name will be changed to Talk Mentalist.

OK got that and makes sense with all the people taking things to seriously. but a sticky for the interpretations would make more sense i believe hehe can imagine sceptics making a run on poor mentalists and on the other hand the uh true practitioners of magick writing death threats for imposters who disregard their vocation. heh had this once - i was doing tarot card readings for some friends (and some nice tricks that played well along the line) at a party, and there was this girl and she went all crazy about me deceving poor people and being a parasite and sh*t. a couple of months later i was at a club and just having fun partying and there came someone up who told me he heard about me being in the art (probably because i did some tarot readings, astrology tricks and everything with a good dose of cold reading). first i thought he was pulling my leg but he was dead serious. then i told him what i think of it - that i respect if people believe in something, but i dont and i dont want to be taught in better ways and whatever. he then told me he will curse me for betraying the ART. whew.

btw guys and gals if you have stories like that just tell them i bet they are fun.

ok back to topic...while i still think that the divisions in the mentalist and secret are are overkill, i would like to suggest that the general area be restructured.

So basically keep the misc, and all the regional things but dissolve the support and tipps into cards, coins, stage, closeup, mentalism, bizarre (please please bizarre area. Mr. Marucci please support this cause )

uhm maybe there are some other areas but these are the most essential imho.

Maybe a better solution would be to hide these 'extra' forums from members who don't have access (if it's possible to do so)? I'm not saying all restricted forums, just those on Corina, Tarot, and such. That way the benefits are kept and the forum looks a little tidier to those without access

i am sorry but what kind of a solution is this? the uhm general population will still have only 2 forums for everything and the secret ones are strongly biased towards mentalism (the last one being not so obvious anymore!)

I dont think that people will agree to disagree on this matter,shall we just leave it upto the admin and mods? Im sure all points are vaild but lets not have a flame war over such a trival thing,the admin and mods have heard everyones points of view and they will do what they consider to be the best for the TM forum - Lets play Darts...Ooopps meant cards!

i agree with you there is no point in fighting over such a trivial thing. It also was never my intention. i just suggested what i thought might be practical and thats it hehe
