Tonight on BBC4, at 7.40pm and again at 11.30pm tomorrow - The New Avengers.

Now, some people say it's not as good as the original, but I think it's just different. They're playing it right from the pilot episode, and tomorrow there's an Avengers episode on straight after it, so look sharp and think on.

The last time they showed TNA they didn't show the last episode because, apparently, some idiot without a seatbelt had smashed into an underpass in Paris and we were all supposed to be in an unwavering mood of utter dejection. Not me. In the words of Keith Richard, "I've never met the chick."

Being an ardent fan of the original Avengers I was apprehensive when the new version was aired but it had it's own persona which didn't take anything away from the older version and I really enjoyed it. As for JL and the Purdey haircut....(fnar, fnar...)

Thanks for the tip.... watching it right now.. And this episode has the late, great Peter Cushing in it. Total star!!!
