Golden Fleece Opens

The ring for 'The Golden Fleece' comes apart when spun even gently.
Anyone else had this problem? Suggestions for a fix other than wax?

Before asking, I should have examined and understood this newly aquired trick better. A simple application of invisible tape fixes it nicely.
