'visionary deck'?

Postby Waldorfcartoons » Nov 17th, '08, 20:41

Has anyone used the 'visionary deck' principle?

This is a deck that has been obviously mismarked - e.g. 7D on the back and the card is the 10 clubs (you can probably see where I'm going here). There's scope for some humour ("I marked these when I was drunk" or "I asked my young daughter to mark these for me...") but I'm struggling to build more than that?

Any ideas or pointers gratefully received (PM me if you like)

I marked these before the credit crunch but now they're devalued.

Numbers aren't my strong point, I'm more of a people person you winey old hag.

I got Jonathan Ross to mark these in his newly found spare time but he can't even be trusted to do that right.

Are you after ideas for a routine or for one liners to relate to the state of the marks?

If it's a routine then how about two specs "choosing" a card and then revealing them both being the same card, if you see what I mean :?

I'm after routines really - though I like the one-liners too. Many thanks for suggestions.

How about using just one mis-marked card in a normal pack.
You have the card written on the back of this selected and mixed back in the deck. You then find the marked card (which would be wrong) and lay it face up on the table. When the spectator lets you know say you can't be wrong as you're using marked cards and flip the card over.
Not a great piece of magic I know but good for a bit of fun

Ive been playing round with the idea of marked cards in that fashion..

Heres an idea...

You have the mismarked ones and "influence" a particular one, turn it over to show an actual card face eg 6C (has QD mismarked on back)..Have this signed and returned to the pack, shuffled and spread face up to see his signed selection and on the back isnt the mismarked QD but a DF with an actual QD on it..

Just a quick thought, hope it helps??
