...that Prince Charles was member of The Magic Circle? I only found out today in a school assembly where the Deputy Head was saying some random facts about him. Apparently, according to Wikipedia, he passed his audition with a cups and balls routine.
Has anyone ever seen him at the Magic Circle or is he not interested in magic or doesn't have the time anymore?
The whole thing just seemed pretty funny and random to me.

He's a good deal more interesting than a lot of people think. He even knows Stephen Fry, you know...

Way back when the Circle was in Cheynes Mews there was a picture of Charles doing his audition on the wall. I'm not sure what his chances of failure were, though.
I know that when he got his para wings he had to do one water jump, and not the nine or so 600' drops with kit at night
Take care, Ian

This is quite an old fact. One which many don't know but one which my Grandad told me when he first started getting me into magic in the early 80's.
I'd love to have seen his audition. However bad it might have been do you think they'd turn him down as a member?

There's still the photo of HRH hung at the Magic Circle headquarters now and the photo can be found on their web site at
http://www.themagiccircle.co.uk in the photo gallery.
I don't think you will find his details posted in the 'find a magician' section though
Tomo's right and he is an interesting person and I've met him three times but not at the Magic Circle though.

Some of this stuff is pretty interesting, and always thought he was a very boring person...
It would be pretty funny if you could book him as your magician though!
I wonder if he does children's parties...

I hear his mother does some fantastically wicked impersonations. It might be worth trying to book the whole family for an evening's entertainment.

Perhaps im on my own then in saying i detest the royal family, Charles especially. Surely he must look at Harry and get suspicious?

I have to say that I have always regarded the Prince Chalres/Magic circle thing as not much more than a simple publicity stunt. I put it in the same league as the Harlem Globetrotters having signing Bill Cosby to a $1 a year lifetime contract in 1972. (Which was increased to a $1.05 in 1986).

Note the superb magician's performing attire:
And a close up of his cups (and balls, of course):

Yeah and he must be the only man ever to have been in the Paras without having to do P company, the swine.
And do you really think Anderson and Sheppard ever send him an invoice for all of those bespoke suits?
Must be nice.
