I do like this effect.

It's a funny one though. It's very simple. 90% of people are floored but I have had one person almost see through it - they certainly had a good inkling. I think it relies on the framing of the effect in that you are SUGGESTING that there are 4 queens in each packet and stating that you are transferring the thought of cards. If you took that away then you are merely left with 1 card in 4 being the card they thought of which given the two possible outcomes isn't really amazing and could lead to them partly sussing the method (if they consider the possibility of gimmicked cards).

I think the count displays are definately required, otherwise the possibility that the card was always there face-up is an obvious thought.

Yeah it does benefit hugely from an elmsley count, not sure I would do this trick without the count. Apart from adding the kicker of the queen turning over it also adds the colour change as the queens jump from pack to pack.

Re Twisted Sister I watched the demo & instantly figured out how it was done, which ain't hard for magic folk to do. It's a great trick though. And like a lot of other tricks I've been reading on I need quite a few gimmicked cards.

Where's the best place to get these from.
I know cards4magic have a good selection but I'd really like to be able to order cards specifically. ie 4 blue backed aces, a gimmicked queen h & s etc. Stating what suits are on the cards.

I'd really rather buy decent printed ones than make my own up. Anyone know of a site for these?

I would say that if the card collection don't sell the gimmicked card then it probably doesn't exist pre-made up and you would have to pay to get them made.

in saying that twisted sisters is a truly great effect and well worth buying.

Yeah I don't mind paying to have them made up to my specs, it's just a case of wear to pay :?

If you need specific cards or specific gaffs, talk to Clive at cards4magic. He's most likely to be able to produce top quality items or know someone who can provide them. They won't be cheap but they will be good!

He's done specific cards for me several times in the past at about £3 each, all on Bike stock and I reckon they were well worth it.

There's a TM member, Cardmaker, who is in this line as well so perhaps a PM to him might open avenues for you?

Hi, I'm a newby to this site but not to magic. I've discussed the pack of card v the packet trick with many friends and I don't agree with the usual stance of cards having to come out of a pack to be effective.

I use a number of packet tricks and also a number of faked decks and if they are used properly you don't have any problems.

Twisted Sisters is to me a brilliant packet trick, and because you finish up with the two chosen queens and six jokers no-one expects or presumes that the cards should have come from a full deck.

Maybe its what you say when you introduce the effect  but I don't have any problems with any of the packet tricks I do, or for that matter, fake decks.

I always begin with the Nudist Deck because I've done it so much I cannot fail, and it has one hell of an impact when all the cards return to blank. When I return to doing a card trick several tricks down the line, no-one questions using a different deck cos the last one going in my pocket was useless (blank).
