The M5 system

Postby counterfeiter » Oct 21st, '04, 07:48

I wanted to know if the m5 system from ellusionist is really worth buying.
The kit costs $89, which I think is alot. Is the m5 better and more "powerful" than the bat and the raven? And should I buy the accessories kit that comes with the X-flip coin and Electra K Kit? I mean, it will costs $35 more, but will the little extra props make a difference in my performance? Are they really worth it?

the M5 is a lot more powerful than the raven or bat and the effects that can be done with it are very good and effective, depending on what sort of stuff you do $89 (£50) may or may not be a big expense so if its worth it or not is up to you. The flipper coin seems like a good addition but the electra kit is only going to be of use if you want to turn on radios etc and i dont know how effective that would be

Am I allowed in this forum to speak frankly about the M5, brand names, prices, alternatives to what's available commercially and so on? I have been using the M5 for weeks and have some opinions and information that may be of use.

Oh, and as the nature of the M5 is advertised in the publicity by the manufacturer, can I use the M-word freely?

I can be contacted privately for details if not.

It all depends on what you want to say about it. Although many online shops etc give very strong indications of how something works, it's the usual policy of TM to avoid this if possible. One site advertising The Raven showed a picture of the entire dingus which really tipped the gaff until one of the members here pointed it out to them and they changed it. Most of us know what M5 is and that it has an 'attractive' aspect but we just don't say so out loud! If you think something my be a bit too revealing, perhaps you could PM one of the mods with the full text of what you want to say, it can be checked over before launching on the public, and perhaps trimmed a little if necessary. We don't like censorship at all but there's a fine line between discussing and exposing which certain other members in the past have totally ignored so we feel it's best to be on the safe side. (There are many in the Magic trade who will swiftly resort to legal action if they feel their secrets are being given away so there's an element of 'rear end covering' as well!)

Thanks for the tip.

Let me just say that you do not need to spend very much money on this device.

As how the M5 device works is used as a selling point by the manufacturers and distributors, in my opinion this is a case in which your $80 are not paying for the secret. PM me for more.

If anyone wondered why we stress so strongly the aspect of not being too specific, the post from sean9k should explain everything!

Sean, please check the stickies at the start of the forum - it explains why we don't reveal things here on TM.

Best way to get the info you want is to use Google, Yahoo or similar search engines then check out the sites for yourself. We don't know all the sources and prices as we're not a trading Forum.

ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

After being away for a few months, I see nothings changed.

We still get people asking the 'how is it done' question.

I wish I had a pound for every post like that.

Sean - nothing personal, but most of us here have paid for the secrets with our hard earned (or in some cases, the parents hard earned), so we are not going to tell you for free.

Just do a search on Google for magic shops, and do a bit of surfing for the cheapest.
