you could use the linking method for remembering these cards, then you could recite them forwards and backwards with little or no effort. (and i was using this technique before a certain goateed mind fiddler published it).

Just a thought

I must say I am a little surpised that some people are having problems with memorising the films. I picked it up without any problems at all and without using linking methods of any kind.

I must be special. :D

Glad you raised that point Dale, can we all be a little less specific in our posts - we know what we're talking about but we don't want everyone else to know, do we  .

You know when I first see the explanation I thought oh dear hours and hours of practise to be put in here but I actually memorised the whole lot in about 30-45mins with relative ease bar one or 2 here and there but with a weeks practise (probably even less) you can memorise them and not forget thrm even if you didn't pick them up for a month(not that that's ever gonna happen) well overall no-one should have any problem with them given your willing to put in a little practise.

May a reduced amount of the cards be used for this effect? For instance, would the effect be able to be performed with half of the cards?

Yes, but it seems unnecessary to use less. It isn't many movies as it is and doesn't take much remembering the method. Using less for the effects included would probably weaken them, but there isn't any reason they can't be used to create other effects. It's a utility prop to me that offers an alternative to playing cards.

Exactly! I was having other routine ideas.

One idea is, after a spectator does some cuts, that a less amount of cards are passed out (in order) to a seated group. After that the group would (methodically) exchange them or pass them along. Then more than one reveal could be made.

After the routine, a "20 Questions" or "Which movie do I have" game could be played among the group. I'm thinking personal private party here.
